"Tears-inducing" Kojima explains why he returned to the espionage action game: Responding to players' expectations before his death

["Tear-dropping" Kojima explains why he returned to the spy action game: Responding to players' expectations before dying] At the previous State of Play event, Hideo Kojima announced a new original IP, which is said to be a spy action game game. In the recently aired program "HideoTube Special Edition", Kojima explained the original intention of making this new game. First, he answered the question "Does the studio want to create a new "MGS"?" Kojima pointed out: "This is both a game and a movie, so I chose to cooperate with Sony. When you play this spy game, your mother may come over and see the screen and think you are watching a movie." Secondly, as for why he wanted to create this game, Kojima said: "Because now I have an independent studio and can do what I want. I wanted to challenge before, so I made "Death Stranding"; I wanted to expand the series , so I made "Death Stranding 2"; I wanted to create more, so I made "OD". There are indeed many ideas and projects, but in the past eight years, players from all over the world have posted on social media every day I was asked to continue creating "MGS". In 2020, I had a physical problem and entered the hospital. At that time, I felt that I might not be able to make games anymore, and even made a will. I am now 60 years old. Although I don't want to retire, I also realized that we are mortal. Since everyone has such high expectations, I also decided to change my priorities and create a spy game for players." It is reported that this project has received full support from SIE, using the most cutting-edge technology to break the barriers between movies and games, and provide unprecedented new interactive entertainment. However, the development of the game will not be put into production until the release of "Death Stranding 2", so players will still have to wait for some time.
