[Kamiya explains the reason for leaving Platinum, and the business of New Clover Studio is jointly developed] Capcom announced the new work "Okami" at this year's TGA. As the director of this game, Hideki Kamiya also recently announced the development of New Clover Studio. was founded (he left Platinum Studios last year). Recently, Kamiya accepted an interview with the media denfaminicogamer. The key information is as follows: 1. Kamiya said that when he left Platinum, he did not think about creating a new studio. I have considered working in the industry as a freelancer like Yoko Taro. 2. The reason for leaving was a disagreement in ideas. I had been arguing about these issues with the current president (Inaba) a few months ago, but it was just a peaceful breakup without any quarrel. 3. Although Kamiya serves as the vice president of Platinum, he spends 90% of his time working on the development frontline. 4. New Clover currently has about 20 people. It currently has branches in Tokyo and Osaka and is expanding its recruitment. 5. In order to comply with the one-year non-compete agreement, the preparation of the new studio was handed over to the partners. 6. The studio has received investment (only in projects, not companies). Kamiya emphasized "independence" and did not want creativity and uniqueness to be interfered with in any way. 7. Kamiya said that he does not like the current 3A scale, and personally prefers slightly larger 2A projects. 8. The studio's development policy is "collaborative" production (that is, a form of cooperation), rather than taking full responsibility. 9. Because we focus on external cooperation, we are currently considering using a general engine (such as Unreal Engine). 10. Of course, the possibility of cooperation with Platinum is not ruled out.
