The skin "First Years" had four very different early drafts, each with a unique vibe and surprisingly high quality:

• First Draft: A soft, refreshing look that’s rarely seen in Identity V—almost like something out of a fairytale.

• Second Draft: A girly pink-and-white design. It’s more in line with traditional cute aesthetics, though somewhat common.

• Third Draft: Closely resembles the final version, with white as the main tone. Honestly, the draft looks even more luxurious than the final release.

• Fourth Draft: A gentle, vintage style with a muted long dress that adds an extra layer of charm and innocence.

The first and third drafts, with their intricate layered skirts and elegant but not overly complex accessories, could easily pass for gold-tier skins with a bit more refinement!

The concept behind this skin was a little girl wearing clothes made of paper. The final design was developed by picking the strongest elements from the four drafts and refining them further.

The finalized look also includes adjustments to the hairstyle and accessories, and adds letters and graffiti to the dress for extra detail. The designers even took inspiration from traditional Sicilian fashion, which helped form the version we all know today.

2. Dream Witch’s Purple Skin “Paper Queen”

Here’s a look at the draft versions of the “Paper Queen” skin for the Dream Witch.

The first draft finally brought in some real horror vibes, with her eyes replaced by bloody holes—definitely creepy! But the bright yellow dress feels a bit mismatched with the horror tone.

• The other two drafts are less graphic with the eyes, but the overall designs are solid and aesthetically balanced.

Interestingly, in early promos, the Dream Witch was shown with visible eyes in a corrupted form, but this was changed before release. That version had a vibe similar to the first draft’s creepy eye design!

The final release version of “Paper Queen” is arguably the peak of purple-tier skin quality. The paper texture and layered design feel incredibly realistic, and the skin is not hard to obtain, making it a fan favorite. Let’s hope all future Essence purples aim for this level of detail and quality!
