[Recruitment list shows that Sony is suspected of preparing for ARM-based consoles] A data miner Puff discovered a new recruitment information in Sony Japan's recruitment list. The position requires applicants to be able to make games developed for PlayStation Run on new architecture systems. In terms of specific requirements, candidates need to understand different CPU architectures, knowledge of C and C++, assembly language, be familiar with English, and master just-in-time compilation and ahead-of-time compilation. It will be more advantageous if they also understand game engines such as Unity and Unreal. Judging from these descriptions, Sony is likely to switch to ARM architecture. According to the previous court documents regarding Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Xbox is also studying the possibility of switching from the x64 architecture to the ARM64 architecture.
