[Former employees revealed that "Legend of Immortals" cost about US$125 million and the plan was not suitable for today's market] EA's magic shooting game "Legend of Immortals" was launched in August last year. Because the game's performance did not meet the company's expectations, developer Ascendant The studio has laid off 45% of its staff. Ascendant CEO Bret Robbins previously blamed the game's poor sales on its release time and blockbuster hits. However, an anonymous former employee recently expressed different opinions in an interview. According to him: "This project is beyond the capabilities of the studio. The development cost of "Legend of Immortals" is about US$85 million, and EA is in marketing and distribution." It also had to invest $40 million. Although there are many excellent talents in the team, making a AAA single-player shooting game in today's market is a very bad plan. Especially this is a new IP and uses the new Unreal engine. 5. It ends up being time-consuming and labor-intensive.”
