The Zenless Zone Zero 2.1 update goes live on July 16. Today, let’s dive into Yoyo’s signature W-Engine from the first-half banner: Tanifa’s Morphing Melody.
At level 60 and 1-star, the base ATK is 713, which is standard for a limited S-rank W-Engine.
Yoyo’s core passive gives the team the highest ATK buff when her total ATK reaches 3000. The high base stat of the signature W-Engine helps reach that threshold more easily — though even without it, it’s still achievable.
The advanced stat is 60% Energy Regen, which is excellent. Energy recovery is essential for all support characters.
① When the equipping unit deals Physical DMG with an Enhanced Special Attack or EX Special Attack, they gain Anomaly Mastery for 40s.
Analysis: The 40s duration perfectly matches the uptime of Yoyo’s “Tanuki’s Wish” team-wide buff. She only needs to use an Enhanced Special Attack or EX Special Attack every 40 seconds to maintain the Anomaly Mastery buff.
Anomaly Mastery helps Yoyo build up Anomaly more efficiently and also enhances the team’s overall Anomaly and Disorder DMG through her Additional Ability.
② When a Follow-Up Attack hits an enemy, the entire team gains increased Anomaly Proficiency for 40s.
Yoyo’s Basic Attack, Candy Blaster, is a Follow-Up Attack. When she has a “Sweet Point,” she spins to attack enemies.
This effect is easily maintained through regular gameplay, giving the whole team consistent Anomaly Proficiency, further boosting their Anomaly DMG.
In summary, her signature W-Engine has 3 main effects:
Increases Yoyo’s Anomaly Mastery
Through her Additional Ability, boosts teamwide Anomaly buildup and Anomaly/Disorder DMG
Increases the whole team’s Anomaly Proficiency
Yoyo’s signature W-Engine isn’t a must-pull. There’s a very suitable alternative: A-rank Lucy’s signature W-Engine — "Aggressive Boar".
Base ATK at level 60: 624 — lower than the signature weapon but still sufficient to help reach 3000 ATK.
Advanced stat: 50% Energy Regen — just 10% lower than the signature weapon.
W-Engine effect: When any ally hits an enemy, teamwide ATK increases (stacking up to 4 times, lasting 8s).
Lucy’s 3 little pigs can easily trigger this. Yoyo has a tanuki named Agama, who can also trigger stacks.
However, there’s a catch: "Aggressive Boar" is in high demand. Ellen, Lycaon, and now Yoyo all want to use it. There just aren’t enough fully upgraded copies to go around.
If you have the Deluxe Battle Pass, you can get "Leisurely Ball", which also provides 50% Energy Regen. Its effect: when the wearer hits an enemy and triggers an Attribute Counter, all allies gain Crit Rate against that target. It’s situational but works well in the right matchup.
Note: Yoyo shouldn’t equip "Leisurely Ball." Instead, Lycaon can use it against enemies weak to Ice, freeing up "Aggressive Boar" for Yoyo.
Yoyo’s signature W-Engine is not a must-pull. As long as you have "Aggressive Boar", she can perform very well with it.
To upgrade Yoyo’s Core Passive, you’ll need the new material: High-Dimensional Data: Misfortune Hornet, which will only become available after the 2.1 update.
For weekly materials, she needs 9 x Zealot’s Sculpture, dropped from the boss: Bringer of the Herd.
Yoyo’s signature W-Engine Tanifa’s Morphing Melody boosts her ATK and in-combat Anomaly Mastery, enabling full use of her Core and Additional Abilities. It also directly enhances the team’s Anomaly Proficiency. Still, she functions extremely well with Aggressive Boar, a powerful alternative.
