Zenless Zone Zero 2.0 Phase 1 Pull Guide: Two Must-Pull Characters You Shouldn't Miss

After a long wait, Zenless Zone Zero is finally getting its 2.0 update tomorrow! Let’s talk about which characters and gear you should prioritize in the first phase of the new banner.

1. Is Yinlin Worth Pulling?

Absolutely! She's a must-pull.

Yinlin is a top-tier [Shiyu-level] agent with the new “Fracture” attribute and a unique energy type, “Xuanmo.” She’s the 2.0 counterpart to 1.0’s star DPS, Ellen.

Her enhanced Special Ability lets her block enemy attacks, giving her both survivability and damage potential. She can pull enemies together using Cloud Condensation Art, making her excellent at clearing mobs.

Yinlin also has two powerful Ultimate skills that trigger based on full Technique or Roar values, enabling extremely high burst damage.

What’s more, Yinlin can enter a flight mode with high-speed movement and auto-collect nearby resource nodes—a fun and unique mechanic.

Yinlin is expected to stay strong in several core game modes, such as Shiyu, Crisis Zones, and Hollow Zero, for multiple future versions.

Plus, you’ll have a chance to pull her A-rank teammate Panhua, a great addition to her team, saving you from team-building headaches.

2. Should You Pull Yinlin’s Signature W-Engine?

Highly recommended!

Her signature W-Engine, Azure Cage, provides percentage-based HP boosts and enhances Pierce Power and Pierce Damage, which synergize perfectly with her skills.

Its Amp effect boosts crit rate, Ether DMG, and increases Ether Pierce damage for Ultimates and Enhanced Specials—massively increasing her power across the board.

Since Yinlin uses the new Fracture mechanic, old W-Engines are incompatible. Among the new A-rank options, Electric Boogie (from the large monthly pass) and Phantom Cube (available via tuning or the toy store) are the main alternatives.

Electric Boogie performs better overall, but requires multiple monthly passes to max out. Phantom Cube is free-to-exchange and easier to upgrade—ideal for F2P players.

3. Is Yan Jingya (aka Grace) Worth Pulling?

Recommended!

Although Jingya is an older S-rank support unit from version 1.5, she remains the best support in the game until another limited S-rank support is released.

She significantly reduces gameplay complexity—most teams require actively rotating all 3 characters, but with Jingya, you’ll often only need to control 2.

Her buffs are strong and automatically triggered, unlike other supports like Nicole (who needs to be rotated in to reapply debuffs) or Lucy (for combo setups).

She’s not only powerful but incredibly convenient, and fits into almost any team to provide a major boost.

The new “Fracture” mechanic in 2.0 affects debuffers like Nicole and Rina, but Jingya is not impacted—she pairs well with new Fracture-type DPS agents like Yinlin.

4. Should You Pull Jingya’s Signature W-Engine?

Nice to have, but not essential.

Her signature W-Engine, Linglong Makeup Box, offers energy regeneration and a 20% team-wide damage buff. Since Jingya sees frequent use, her signature engine is a solid investment.

However, 2.0 has a lot of priorities: Yinlin, her signature engine, and Jingya herself. If your “Filin” (pull currency) is limited, you can skip her W-Engine.

She works perfectly well with alternatives like Aggressive Ah Pao or Shy Evil Mask. Even without her signature gear, her base kit is already excellent.

Summary

Every featured agent and W-Engine in the 2.0 Phase 1 banner is highly valuable. Here’s the recommended pull priority:

Yinlin > Jingya > Yinlin’s W-Engine > Jingya’s W-Engine

May your pulls be blessed: Yinlin comes on your first try; Jingya follows soon after; and both signature W-Engines drop in a single 10-pull! 🎉
