[PS5 domestic sales in the same period are twice that of PS4, China Star received more than 100 applications] At the beginning of 2024, Mr. Tatsuo Eguchi, Chairman and President of Sony Interactive Entertainment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., sent a message to the players Happy New Year and thank you all for your continued support and love for PlayStation. During the period, he revealed that global sales of PS5 exceeded 50 million units in December last year. In the domestic market, PS5 sales during the same period were nearly twice that of PS4. In addition, when reviewing 2023, Eguchi said that PlayStation has launched devices such as the high-performance controller DualSense Edge, PS VR2, and the new thin and light version of PS5. Not only that, the third phase of the "China Star Project" has also made more progress. In addition to the six games that have been announced as selected games, it is reported that it has received applications from more than 100 development teams.
