Zenless Zone Zero 2.0 – Top 5 Most Powerful Bangboos: Lionheart Shiye Becomes a Game-Changer at 3 Stars!

Zenless Zone Zero 2.0 has been online for a while now, and in addition to new characters and new drivers, a new Bangboo "Shiye" from the Cloudfort faction has also joined the lineup. Today, let's take a deep look at the top five strongest Bangboos in version 2.0.

TOP 5: Kernel

While Kernel is only an A-rank Bangboo, it's one of the only two healer-type Bangboos (alongside Kacha), providing consistent healing to increase your team's long-term survivability.

Though its impact is limited in boss battles like Hollow Zero or Critical Anomalies, Kernel truly shines in Hollow Simulation Trials. In higher levels, even a bit of healing can drastically improve team survivability. If you're aiming to push through the tower before 2.1 launches a new climbing mode, Kernel is a must-have for your team.

TOP 4: Robin

Robin is an S-rank Bangboo from the Sons of Calydon faction. Depending on your active characters' roles, it can flexibly switch between dealing damage, applying Daze, or inflicting debuffs — all with solid performance.

Currently, only Hugo and Vivian belong to the Calydon faction, and Robin greatly benefits both. More importantly, Robin is the first Bangboo that unlocks its enhanced ability with just one faction member, making it a must-pull and must-build if you’re using Hugo or Vivian.

TOP 3: Shiye

Shiye, the mascot from Cloudfort, is both adorable and deadly. It's a pure DPS Bangboo whose active skill delivers high damage and Daze. Its passive increases all of its own damage and reduces cooldowns when allies use their Ultimates.

Interestingly, Shiye is the first Bangboo whose core mechanic evolves significantly with star level. Once you unlock 3 stars, its passive no longer requires two Cloudfort members — only one is enough. This greatly increases its flexibility.

If you have Master Jin or plan to pull Orange Fu-Fu, investing in a 3-star Shiye is strongly recommended. Even if Orange Fu-Fu replaces Jin or Hu, Shiye remains a great fit in various team comps and boosts your team's damage and Daze potential.

TOP 2: Butler

Butler has been around since launch, but it remains one of the most practical Bangboos. Its Chain Attack is a pure physical DPS skill, which doesn’t easily help with Charge building, but its active skill can restore energy for the frontline — boosting your DPS’s rotation speed.

Even though Butler doesn’t easily trigger passive abilities in today’s meta, its solid mechanics and stats still make it one of the best Bangboos to build. Anyone who pulled Butler early on can still confidently use it across many teams.

TOP 1: Kacha

Kacha is currently the only Bangboo focused purely on enhancing team damage. While its buffs are modest (only 6% damage bonus at Level 60 and 1-star), its effect is stable and often more valuable than the Bangboo dealing damage on its own.

When paired with Cunning Hares like Ellen, Kacha can also heal, adding survivability in tough situations — a small support tool that can make a big difference under pressure.

Thanks to its unique offensive buffing ability, Kacha is hands-down the strongest Bangboo right now. It fits in almost any team and offers the best value, especially if you upgrade it to 5 stars.

Conclusion

These are the best Bangboos to invest in for version 2.0. However, remember that Bangboos have less impact on team comps than characters, so personal preference should still be your priority. Use the Bangboos you love most — that’s what really makes the game fun.
