Independent game publisher Flawless Gaming has released the first playtest of its new top-down action rogue-lite game "Digital Phantom: Extreme Races". The characters in the game participate in a reality show in a city called "Kong City". Through prosthetic transformation and customized weapons, they compete with various intelligent machines in real-time live broadcasts.

After registering for the test on Steam, quotas will be awarded to players through background draws. All users who participate in the test can receive official resource pack rewards after the game is launched. Users who fill out the in-game questionnaire can be added to the credits list at the end of the game, and also have the opportunity to directly draw the official version of the game to exchange for KEY.

The cyberpunk style of the game incorporates trendy visual elements such as "glitch" and "pop", which is very avant-garde and visually tense. The special effects of the battle are also cool enough. It is better to eat with sound effects and music!


The rogue elements in the game are mainly composed of drivers and relics. Drivers will be divided into many different brand types, and they can be synthesized with each other to form a more powerful aggregate driver to increase combat power.

Combat operations (as shown below) are roughly divided into four action keys: basic attack, heavy attack, defense and ultimate move. Players can freely choose the attack direction mode and set automatic aiming. The game currently supports Xbox controllers.

The output method is to accumulate heavy attacks for each normal attack hit, with an upper limit of three grids; defense is accumulated based on time CD, with an upper limit of two grids; and the ultimate move is accumulated based on the hits of normal attacks and heavy attacks.


There will also be different interactive elements in the battle scenes, such as dump trucks, traps, bombs, etc., which will cause damage to players and enemies at the same time. Of course, there will be a red range prompt after these traps are triggered. Players need to quickly leave the red range while avoiding enemy attacks.


The outside development part is mainly divided into operating systems, weapon modifications and prosthetic weapons. Through the "computing power" automatically collected in the game, you can click on the skill tree in the operating system, challenge big and small bosses, and get chips for weapon modification.

There will be a total of three characters in this round of testing, and they need to be unlocked by passing levels. Whether you like traditional Hit&Run, hard-hitting block and rebound, or operation loops that require precise calculation...you can satisfy them all!


Finally, there is the online mode that is more eye-catching in this test. The online setting is 3-player PVE. You can form a team through matching or entering a private room. There are 10 difficulties in total. It requires the accumulated heat value of the highest record of multiple people on the left (based on the team's performance on the field) to unlock.

In addition, the demo version of the game will be launched at the Steam New Product Festival on February 5. According to the development team, unlike this playtest version, the demo will only have two difficulties and will not include online gameplay.
