[Totoki Hiroki said that Sony will pay more attention to making first-party games multi-platform in the future] In the question and answer session after Sony released its latest financial report, Totoki Hiroki was asked what plans the game department has to increase profits in the future. His answer to the question was hardware and first-party games, and he later gave a detailed explanation of that answer. In terms of hardware, he believes that compared with previous generations of consoles, it is very difficult to reduce hardware costs in the PS5 era, so how to develop a sustainable business model without relying on discount sales is crucial. As for first-party games, Toki Hiroki hopes that the team can take advantage of its strong first-party games and develop on multiple platforms (such as PC) to increase profit margins.
