Honor of Kings has been rolling out collaborative skins at a rapid pace, with new partnerships launching nearly every month. Not long after the Sanrio collab skins were released, a new collaboration has now been revealed.
According to multiple content creators, Honor of Kings is preparing for a major crossover with the Jurassic World film franchise. The news first surfaced through the international version of the game, which recently teased Jurassic-themed visuals and released an official collaboration poster (as shown below), sparking widespread attention.
This crossover is expected to feature hero skins, minion skins, and a map skin. Among these, the map skin is especially exciting—neutral monsters on the battlefield may be transformed into iconic dinosaurs from Jurassic World. Given the credibility of the sources, this information appears highly reliable and has players eagerly anticipating the update.
If this dinosaur-themed map skin is truly launched, it could signal the beginning of a more expansive map skin system within the game. Like minion skins, map skins are primarily client-side only (visible to the player), but some can be shared with friends for viewing as well.
Honor of Kings already has a history of thematic map skins, including seasonal versions like Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, as well as festive themes like Christmas.
Additionally, there are rumors that the game may collaborate with the beloved Chinese animated series Boonie Bears, potentially bringing themed minion skins. However, this remains unconfirmed by the developers and should be taken with a grain of salt until official announcements are made.
Meanwhile, the veteran hero Cao Cao is also getting some love. During a recent developer livestream, it was officially confirmed that Cao Cao will undergo a comprehensive rework in the upcoming “Three Kingdoms” themed season.
The overhaul will include skill adjustments, as well as updates to his character model and splash art. Developers promised a more visually appealing version of Cao Cao post-rework. Furthermore, his skins will also be updated in line with the new model. For example, the much-criticized "Ghost Captain" skin will finally receive a visual upgrade.
The "Three Kingdoms" update, which focuses on the historical period and its characters, is set to launch next season. Alongside Cao Cao, several other Three Kingdoms heroes will also see updates:
Liu Bei: Now in community co-design phase.
Zhou Yu: Has received changes in the test server.
Even more exciting is the announcement of a brand-new hero: Sun Quan. As a prominent historical figure from the Three Kingdoms era, Sun Quan marks the return of historically based heroes in the game. He has already been teased by the developers—early visuals show him wielding a bow, suggesting he will likely be an archer or mage.
On top of all this, the underused hero Meng Tian is also reportedly getting a new skin.
Players discovered a skin placeholder in the international server, with the skin classified as "Brave-tier" (equivalent to Epic). According to leaks, this skin will be free and available through the Lucky Draw system, redeemable with King’s Crystals.
Given Meng Tian’s relatively niche popularity, a free Brave-tier skin aligns with expectations.
