1. Choose the Right Agent
Your chosen agent can determine the outcome of the entire match. Picking a strong one is already half the battle won.
Recommended Agents:
Rina: Gain an extra 4 coins after winning a battle.
Number 11: If there are no Bangboos on the bench, gain 8 EXP.
Vivienne: Gain 2 extra coins at the start of each preparation phase.
Corin: Gain additional coins equal to Shop Level × 2 when upgrading the shop.
Billy: When losing a battle, take 10 less damage.
As you can see, these recommended agents are focused on coins or experience—resources that are beneficial regardless of what lineup or synergy you’re aiming for. Avoid agents with niche synergy-based effects, like one that boosts Wisdom Bangboo basic attack energy recharge by 100%. If you don’t get the specific synergy (e.g., Wisdom), the agent becomes useless.
2. Maximize Interest Income
You get 2 bonus coins for every 10 unspent coins at the end of a round, with a max bonus of 6 coins (at 30 coins).
So your goal is to quickly build up to 30 coins and then only spend coins beyond 30 on things like buying EXP, refreshing the shop, or buying Bangboos.
Of course, in the final sprint or when you’re close to elimination, you should spend all your coins. After all, the most painful thing is dying with unused money.
3. Focus on One Synergy
Each Bangboo has two synergies. Don’t overcomplicate things—just focus on building one synergy to max level, since the upgrade from level 2 to level 3 brings a significant boost.
For example, with the Cyclone synergy:
Going from 2 to 3 Cyclone Bangboos gives you +3% lifesteal.
But going from 3 to 4 gives you +5% lifesteal—a much bigger leap.
Focusing on one synergy also makes shop refreshes much easier—you’ll know exactly what to look for.
If an S-tier chip appears early on that gives something like “+1 to [Synergy] Count,” always take it. It’s basically the game telling you what build to go for.
4. Don’t Rush to Level Up Your Bench (Bangboo Slots)
Each shop level affects the odds of different Bangboo rarities appearing.
If you want low-rarity Bangboos with higher star potential, stay at lower levels and spend the coins beyond 30 on refreshing the shop.
If you’re aiming for higher-rarity Bangboos or want more units on the board to activate synergies, then use that surplus to buy EXP.
Staying at Level 4 is the most efficient for several reasons:
You can field 4 Bangboos, which is enough to form strong synergies with synergy-boosting S-tier chips.
The shop at Level 4 offers all Bangboo rarities (S, A, B, C), with higher chances for A and B ranks—good odds to build any team.
Leveling up to 5 costs a lot of EXP. Since the system gives 4 free EXP each round, leveling too early wastes this free gain.
Once your team is fully formed at Level 4 and can’t get stronger without more synergy slots, then consider leveling up to 5 to get more synergy effects or deploy a powerful S-rank Bangboo.
5. Don’t Chase 3-Star S-Rank Bangboos (Unless for Fun)
Getting a 3-star S-rank Bangboo is extremely difficult. I’ve played many matches and only got one.
In late-game PvP, you lose a lot of HP each round—either you or your opponent is going to die soon. So there's simply not enough time to hit 3 stars.
If you’re playing for fun, go for it. But if you want to win, don’t chase it—it’s inefficient.
Summary
With these five tips in mind, climbing to Ether Radish rank should be much easier.
