1. Character Overview
Inéz is a Moonchaser Electro support who combines off-field damage, team buffs, and shielding into one survivability-focused sub-DPS. Her role is similar to Echofei, but unlike Echofei, Inéz doesn’t lock your team into specific comps. The only requirement is to have both Hydro and Electro elements in the team to trigger Moonchaser Electro (MCE) reactions. Other teammates can be of different elements, like Anemo or Geo.
Inéz currently has very strong damage potential, boosting a team’s DPS by around 25,000. In a meta that demands ever-increasing team output, this is a significant power spike—especially for low-spending or F2P teams—and breathes life into many underused team compositions.
2. Moonchaser Electro Damage Mechanics and Composition
Moonchaser Electro has two key features:
① It is a transformative reaction, meaning it ignores enemy DEF.
② It doesn’t scale with DMG bonuses, but it does benefit from RES shred, such as from Viridescent Venerer or RES-decreasing abilities, which further increase its damage.
In Moonchaser Electro comps centered around Inéz, the key stats are ATK%, EM, RES shred, CRIT Rate, and CRIT DMG. When building these stats, prioritize the ones mentioned. EM should be stacked to around 400, beyond which returns start diminishing. Note that diminishing returns don't mean EM becomes useless, but other stats may offer better gains beyond that point.
Moonchaser Electro Damage Types:

Reaction MCE damage formula:
Main DPS × 100% + Second DPS × 50% + Third DPS × 8.3% + Fourth DPS × 8.3% = Total MCE Reaction Damage
Note: Only characters who actively participate in the reaction are counted. Geo characters, for example, are excluded. Pure Anemo damage won’t count either, but if infused with Hydro or Electro, it will. So Anemo characters are still viable.
Reaction MCE damage fluctuates due to crit variance. If characters fail to crit during damage snapshots, total MCE damage decreases. Therefore, building balanced CRIT Rate/DMG across the team is essential to minimize fluctuations.
Since Reaction MCE damage is mainly contributed by the top two DPS characters, focus your investment on Inéz and the team’s main DPS. Other members require less attention.
3. Weapon Recommendations
Inéz benefits from CRIT stats, ATK%, and EM, so weapons with those stats are preferred.
Quick recommendations:
Top choice: Signature weapon
Next best: CRIT-based 5-star weapons like Staff of the Scarlet Sands, Splendor of Tranquil Aria
Budget options: Battle Pass weapons like Missive Windspear, Deathmatch
Other choices: Any other 5★ polearms or The Catch
4. Artifact Recommendations
Best choice: Gilded Dreams set
Alternatives: 2pc EM + 2pc ATK%, or 2pc EM + 2pc Gilded, etc.
If team includes an ATK-scaling DPS: Tenacity of the Millelith is also viable
Avoid Thundering Fury: Even at full effectiveness, it only provides a 20% boost to MCE reaction damage. Also, its 2-piece bonus (15% Electro DMG) doesn’t benefit Inéz due to transformative reaction rules—it ignores DMG bonuses.
All these are interim sets; prioritize good substats for now and consider farming the new domain expected in version 6.0.

5. Talent Leveling
Level up Elemental Skill and Burst as high as possible.
Elemental Skill is worth crowning.
Normal Attack can be skipped.
6. Constellations & Signature Weapon
For F2P players, C0 is already strong.
C1: Adds ~10% total damage
C2: Adds ~200k Burst damage and enhances survivability
Overall, the cost-effectiveness is low for heavy investment.
The signature weapon and C1 each give about 10% boost, so you can choose either based on personal preference if you want to spend a bit.
6. Team Recommendations
① Inéz + Cyno + Xingqiu + Nahida
Cyno takes the field. His EM-scaling makes him synergize well with MCE. He and Inéz will account for most of the damage. Xingqiu’s damage mitigation enhances Inéz’s shield, and Nahida enables both Aggravate and Hyperbloom. This comp gives Cyno a fresh spotlight.
② Inéz + Neuvillette + Furina + Kazuha/Shinobu
The classic Dragon King comp. Inéz provides shielding and extra damage. Kazuha is better here due to Swirl’s contribution to MCE. Shinobu is busy in other teams and less ideal here.
③ Inéz + Emilie + Xingqiu + Olorun
Emilie is the on-field carry with EM scaling and MCE amplification. Olorun raises Night Soul cap, boosting MCE by up to 30%. Emilie’s aerial playstyle helps with survivability.
④ Inéz + Sucrose + Xingqiu + Fischl
An upgraded Electro-Charged (EC) team. However, pure EC is still weak due to the lack of a strong on-field carry.
Beyond these 4 teams, Inéz fits into many lineups. The basic formula is: Electro + Electro + Hydro + Anemo/Geo.
Summary
Currently, the Moonchaser Electro archetype lacks a strong on-field carry and core support, so it mostly relies on older characters. Still, Inéz is powerful enough on her own to make this new team archetype worth exploring. If you want to try out new mechanics, she’s worth pulling.
