Honkai: Star Rail — The Fourth Abyss Arrives! Three Teams Required! Double Rewards!

Hello, Trailblazers! The second half of version 3.4’s banner is now in its final countdown. If you haven’t pulled your desired rerun characters yet, now’s the time to act! In addition, we’ve gathered some exciting new information about Honkai: Star Rail—let’s take a look!

As most Trailblazers already know, the 3.5 Version Preview is scheduled for August 2, and the new artwork for Version 3.6 will be revealed on August 3 and 4. This means the game's popularity is expected to surge during that period. With Version 3.5 launching soon, mid-August will surely belong to Star Rail.

Aside from the official news, there’s something new from the test server—please note that it’s not yet confirmed by official sources, so read with discretion.

In the database managed by the reliable leaker Nicole, a brand-new Abyss Mode has been discovered: "Eidolon Arbitration". This means that following Memory of Chaos, Simulated Universe (Fictional Narrative), and Apocalyptic Shadow, a fourth combat system is being introduced into the game. While players had long expected a new abyss mode, the speed of its release is quite surprising! But considering the current rate of new character releases and team compositions, a new abyss mode is certainly reasonable.

The Fourth Abyss consists of three trial stages and one final stage, requiring players to form three separate teams to challenge it. That’s right—cultivating just 1 or 2 teams per version won’t be enough anymore. At least 3 strong teams will be necessary.

Before diving into this new mode, though, there’s an unlock condition:
Players must have achieved:

  • Floor 12 of Memory of Chaos,

  • Floor 4 of Fictional Narrative, and

  • Full score on Difficulty 4 of Apocalyptic Shadow.

In other words, this new abyss will be even harder than the previous three. But hey, even casual players like Ah Ji have already met those conditions—so most of you Trailblazers should be fine!

As for how tough this new mode really is, it’ll mainly depend on the buffs provided by the system. Since more teams are required, it's best for players to start preparing now. The overall difficulty won’t be drastically different from the current abyss modes; it really depends on your available characters and team strength.

Regarding rewards, nothing has been fully revealed yet. However, exclusive avatars or cosmetics are expected. It’s unclear if Honkai Impact 3rd has ever introduced similar advanced abyss content—but there’s definitely room to look forward to this.

Again, since this is based on test server data and not official gameplay footage, please take this information as a preview only. More detailed information and official rules will likely be released in versions 3.6 or 3.7.
