There are now quite a few of these “specialist supports” in the game. Let’s take a look at the Top 7 most worthwhile specialist support characters to build in the current version of Genshin.
Top 7. Anemo Specialist – Faruzan
Faruzan greatly enhances the damage and feel of playing Anemo DPS characters. Her Elemental Burst reduces enemies’ Anemo RES and boosts Anemo DMG for teammates, significantly increasing their output.
Her constellations are particularly powerful, especially C4 and C6. C4 restores energy, helping Faruzan use her Burst consistently in every rotation. C6 increases teammates' Anemo CRIT DMG by 40% and allows her to trigger Wind Pressure Collapse while off-field, constantly grouping enemies.
Thanks to Faruzan, both Xiao and Wanderer have seen major power spikes—so much so that C6 Faruzan is often dubbed as their "7th constellation."
Top 6. Burning Specialist – Emilie
Emilie, also known as the Perfumer, debuted in Version 4.8 and is tailored for Burning teams. She deals respectable damage herself and provides additional buffs against enemies affected by Burning.
Burning was originally introduced back in Version 3.0 with the Dendro element. Emilie is the final 5-star character of the Fontaine era, and players who pulled for her are clearly anticipating the rise of Burning-focused teams. With the introduction of Kinich in Version 5.0, Emilie now has her best team. She excels especially in high fire application situations—such as against "Hotpot" monsters.
Top 5. Plunging Attack Specialist – Xianyun
Xianyun, released in Version 4.4, is designed specifically to support Plunging Attacks. Her Elemental Burst increases teammates’ jump height, enabling everyone to use Plunging Attacks effectively.
Besides this, her Burst also provides team-wide healing over time, making her a solid support. Thanks to her powerful Plunging DMG buffs, Xianyun is a favorite among “one-shot” and meme build enthusiasts.
Top 4. Cryo Specialist – Shenhe
Shenhe’s Elemental Skill grants “Icy Quills” that increase Cryo DMG dealt by teammates. Her Elemental Burst reduces enemies' Cryo and Physical RES, significantly boosting Cryo DPS performance.
Shenhe is notable for being Genshin’s first 5-star dedicated buffer. Before her, most specialist buffers were 4-stars like Gorou and Kujou Sara, who needed C6 to become fully functional. Shenhe set a new precedent. Her C6 remains incredibly powerful even today.
Top 3. Overloaded Specialist – Chevreuse
Chevreuse is the first dedicated Overloaded team support. Her kit is designed for teams that consist solely of Pyro and Electro characters and trigger the Overloaded reaction.
She provides a whopping 40% Pyro/Electro RES shred and 40% ATK buff. At C6, she grants an additional 60% Pyro/Electro DMG Bonus. That’s even stronger than Kazuha’s buffs in certain contexts. Her Elemental Skill also heals over time, making her a comprehensive support.
Although she was introduced back in Version 4.3, Overloaded was considered a niche playstyle until Version 5.3 introduced the Electro DPS Valeria. Since then, Overloaded teams with Chevreuse have become a mainstream and budget-friendly powerhouse.
Top 2. Pyro/Hydro Specialist – Chiori (Caterina)
Chiori, released in Version 5.3, is a support focused on enhancing Pyro and Hydro teams. She provides shields and off-field Cryo application. When Freeze or Melt reactions are triggered, she reduces enemy Pyro and Hydro RES by 20%.
Unlike Anemo supports, her RES shred is passive and long-lasting, offering greater stability. Paired with the Vourukasha’s Glow set, which provides 40% bonus DMG, she offers tremendous value for reaction-based Pyro carries.
Top 1. Cryo/Hydro Specialist – Eikofee
Eikofee debuted in Version 5.6 and is currently the best Cryo/Hydro specialist support. Though she’s only usable in Cryo/Hydro teams, her buff numbers are extremely generous—providing 55% Cryo RES shred and 55% Hydro RES shred.
Before Eikofee’s release, Cryo teams had been in a slump. Her arrival gave Cryo comps a massive power spike. With Skirk joining in Version 5.7, the Eikofee + Skirk team has become one of the top meta comps in the current version.
