PlayStation first-party games may strengthen the development of medium-sized works in the future

[PlayStation first-party games may strengthen the development of medium-sized works in the future] Insiders have previously revealed that Sony may turn to producing more medium-sized games to fill the gaps in the release cycle of first-party works. According to the recently leaked internal documents of Insomnia Group, as the production period of large-cost 3A games becomes longer and longer, the studio's focus on small and medium-sized projects may indeed increase in the future. In the presentation, Insomnia Group mentioned works such as "Spider-Man: Miles Morales", whose budget is only one-third of that of a triple-A project, but the revenue is very considerable. And within the time it takes to produce a AAA masterpiece, the studio can continuously create two games of this scale. It is currently known from the leaked documents that the Insomnia Group has a "Venom" game in production, with a release date in fiscal year 2025, so this game may also be the above-mentioned medium-sized game.
