"Assassin's Creed: Shadow" development team explains why they chose black samurai Yasuke and ninja Nao

[The development team of "Assassin's Creed: Shadow" explained why they chose black samurai Yasuke and ninja Nao] The development team of "Assassin's Creed: Shadow" recently accepted an interview with the media Famitsu, during which creative director JONATHAN DUMONT explained the selection of black samurai for this game. The reasons for "Yasuke" and the ninja "Nao". "First of all, overseas players don't know much about the life of Japanese farmers and the origin of ninjas. The Iga ninja Nao is very consistent with the theme of the series. We combined history to create this character who can bring a sense of mystery to people and is possible. Characters who may or may not exist. Next is Yasuke. What we want is a samurai who belongs to us, so we started with the goal of not being Japanese. Because the background of the story was suitable and the team liked the character very much, we thought it would be a good choice to explore Japan from his perspective. In the end, we think these two people will become a great team and complement each other in terms of body and family background as the plot progresses. " In addition, Deputy Narrative Director BROOKE DAVIES also revealed that although Yasuke is a historical figure, there are still many unknowns, so some gaps need to be filled in. As the daughter of Fujibayashi Nagatomomo, Nao Jiang will completely integrate into this world compared to Yasuke, who is real but appears as an outsider. "Assassin's Creed: Shadow" will be launched on PS5/Xbox Series/PC on November 15.
