[Rumor: Several key developers from Platinum Studios have resigned] According to multiple foreign media reports, the well-known action game developer Platinum Studios has recently reported the resignation of many core developers. Previously, at the end of 2023, co-founder Hideki Kamiya announced his departure from Platinum Studios, which shocked the industry and players. Kamiya said that the reason for his departure was that the company's development direction was inconsistent with his development philosophy. Now, the departures of more key figures appear to herald a sea change within the industry's top studio.
The reason for the news is that people including "Metal Gear Rising" director Kenji Saito, "Alien" director Taura Takahisa, "Bayonetta Origins" director Abebe Tinari and others have recently deleted their posts from social media. Content related to Platinum Studios. Tinari even confirmed that he has moved out of Japan. These developers have participated in the production of many of Platinum Studios' iconic works, and rumors of their departure have raised questions about the current situation within the studio. While an official statement has yet to be made, former Platinum Studios member JP Kellams tweeted that "sometimes Platinum does lose its shine," hinting that there may be deeper issues internally.
