Best W-Engines for Aylin

Deep Sea Visitor (Limited S-Rank)
Without considering other factors, Deep Sea Visitor remains Aylin’s best-in-slot W-Engine. It’s easy to fully activate and performs very well in actual combat. However, it grants a whopping 44% Crit Rate, which causes serious overcapping if you’re running the best Pursuit Drive set.
For 0+1 Aylin, your base Crit Rate must not exceed 68%. If you’re using Cinematic I for an additional 12% Crit Rate, the cap drops to 56%. With her signature W-Engine providing 24% Crit and her Core Passive giving another 14.4%, that leaves only 12.6% room for Crit from substats — almost impossible without extreme min-maxing. For this reason, alternate W-Engines are often more practical.
Sunfall Mirage (Limited S-Rank)
When using the Pursuit Drive and struggling with Crit overcapping, Sunfall Mirage becomes the most balanced alternative. It offers Crit DMG and a short-duration Defense Ignore effect, which works well given Aylin’s fast-paced burst windows.
Sulfur Stone (Permanent S-Rank)
If you don’t have Sunfall Mirage, Sulfur Stone is also a very strong option, providing high in-battle ATK boosts. It’s a stable and effective choice, especially for on-field Aylin.
Sonic Burst (Event A-Rank)
As a free option, Sonic Burst is the best A-Rank W-Engine for Aylin. It offers great value for its cost. Cannon Rotor has similar performance, so we won’t go into detail here.
Best Disk Drives for Aylin
1. Best 4-Piece Set: Shadowplay
While Shadowplay 2-piece offers minimal benefit, the 4-piece effect provides full uptime for Aylin. With +12% Crit Rate and +12% In-Battle ATK, this is her best overall Drive Set.
However, for 1+1 Aylin, Crit will almost certainly overcap with this set. In that case, use a W-Engine like Sunfall Mirage or Sulfur Stone to balance stats. For 0+1 Aylin, the signature W-Engine still works fine.
2. Legacy Set: Polar Metal
While still powerful, Polar Metal’s effectiveness drops drastically in 2.0. New meta teams no longer include Ice allies in the break and support roles, reducing set uptime. You’ll only benefit from the 10% Ice DMG and the 20% Basic Attack & Dash DMG.
If you can’t avoid Crit overcapping, Polar Metal is still a backup option, especially for suboptimal gear setups.
3. 2-Piece Combos: Highly Flexible
Aylin has many viable 2-piece combinations:
Crit Rate/Crit DMG: Broken Twig 2 / Woodpecker 2
ATK: Resonance 2 / Adrenaline 2
Ice DMG: Polar 2
Penetration: Pufferfish 2
Pick whatever has the best substats.
Main Stats Priority
Slot 5 is the key decision point. Ice DMG is the most universal, but if you go with Penetration, avoid teammates like Trigger (with Signature) or Hugo, as their Defense-reduction effects may conflict.
Substat Priority
Crit Rate = Crit DMG > Flat ATK > % ATK > Penetration
Same as before — no major changes here.
Team Composition Recommendations
With her new Core Passive, Aylin is no longer restricted to teammates of the same Attribute or Faction. You’re now free to build around strong Break and Support characters, massively improving her flexibility and ceiling.
Aylin Break Teams
Aylin + Lycaon / Trigger / Likan + Yao Jiayin / Caesar / Grace
Break Role:
Lycaon remains the top-tier pick — his Ice synergy and fast-swap playstyle make him perfect. Trigger is also excellent, providing off-field Break without interrupting Aylin’s uptime. If neither is available, go with Likan.
Support Role:
This is where the biggest change happens. Previously, pairing Lycaon or Trigger with Aylin locked you into using Grace. Now, you can run Yao Jiayin or Caesar, significantly boosting the team’s damage ceiling. The downside is that Polar Metal loses effectiveness in these setups, so your Drive choices will need to be adjusted.
